A yellow 'Be Aware' warning is in place until 9pm, with the heaviest showers in the west.

Snow is expected on higher parts of Down and Antrim.

The UK Met Office said: "The rain may turn to snow, mostly on higher ground in the east, before dying out later in the day, though there is also the risk of some snow to lower levels over central and eastern parts.

"The public should be aware of possible travel disruption."
