The Pulp Fiction star was recognised for his lengthy career as he received the Golden Eye trophy in front of a cheering crowd, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Travolta danced onstage and spoke a few words in German before quoting Shakespeare's Hamlet in his acceptance speech.

He said, "It's like the old question: to be or not to be? I chose to be and I guess you are glad that I did."

Filmmaker Oliver Stone also attended as his latest movie Savages opened the 10-day event, which will also recognise Helen Hunt and Richard Gere with awards.
