The funnyman announced his decision to leave the social networking site on Saturday after an exchange with a follower, who was using the handle @oOfuscoOo.
Lucas' final message declared: "I appreciate all the support on here over the past couple of years but it's time to shut down my Twitter account."
The 16-year-old had posted a comment about Lucas' partner Kevin McGee, who was found hanged at his Edinburgh, Scotland apartment in October 2009.
Lucas had first responded to the remark by telling the teen "shame on you", and adding: "I'm not joking. I think you should delete that tweet. It really upset me."
He then stated: "I'm disappointed that @oOfuscoOo thinks jokes about the suicide of my former partner are funny."
The teen has since deleted his account.
Lucas tied the knot with McGee in a civil partnership in 2006 before parting ways in 2008.
