A Yellow weather warning of ice is in place until 10am as overnight showers after roads were salted has led to icy conditions.
There are reports of black ice in the Ligoneil and Ballyclare areas and also icy conditions in the Newtownabbey, Carrickfergus, Newtownbreda, Poleglass, and Lisburn areas.
Police say conditions are especially treacherous in the Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown areas.
Further salting is underway where considered necessary by Roads Service but motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling in all areas, particularly when driving on untreated roads.
The A47 Boa Island Road remains closed due to a road traffic collision and a diversion is in place via the Mulleek Road.
