British model/actress Kelly Brook has reduced her workload because she is convinced her busy schedule was to blame for her miscarriage last year.

Brook blames overworking for miscarriage

The Piranha 3D star was due to become a first-time mother with her boyfriend, retired rugby ace Thom Evans, but Brook announced in May she had miscarried the child five months into her pregnancy.

Brook, 32, refused to slow down her workload when she learned she was expecting and now regrets keeping such a busy diary.

She tells Top Sante magazine: "My miscarriage was a hard lesson. Before I fell pregnant, I'd been living the life of a 22 year old - going to clubs, working hard and flying to a different country every two weeks.

"When I first fell pregnant, I still thought I could run around and do whatever I wanted, but my body let me know that wasn't the case. When I miscarried, I was devastated.

"It was the hardest lesson but, ultimately, a good one. I'd been running on adrenaline believing I was invincible - like so many of us do."

Brook has now altered her lifestyle in the hope of becoming a mum in the near future.

She adds: "Since the miscarriage, I've changed my life dramatically. I've reduced my workload and I'm eating more healthily and exercising more. I don't want to leave it much longer before having children and if I was to fall pregnant now, I'd feel ready."
