The track, written by Adele and her collaborator Paul Epworth, was recognised by Broadcast Music, Inc (BMI) for its airplay success after notching up two million performances since its release.
Dwina Gibb, the widow of late Bee Gees singer Robin, attended the ceremony at London's Dorchester Hotel capital to pick up trophies on behalf of his band.
The disco group was honoured for three million plays of Stayin' Alive and five million plays of How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.
Talk Talk frontman Mark Hollis was also feted for his track It's My Life, which has received three million plays since its release in 1984.
