The scissor-wielding man police officers found hiding in bushes on Miley Cyrus' estate last month has been sentenced to serve 18 months behind bars after he was convicted of trespassing and resisting arrest.

Miley Cyrus' trespasser sentenced

Jason Luis Rivera, 40, reportedly scaled a fence to get into the grounds of the singer/actress' compound.

During his arrest, he is said to have told police he was a friend of the actress/singer's, before adding: "She's my wife."

Rivera pleaded not guilty to the charges following his arrest and was ordered to stay at least 500 yards away from Cyrus and her Los Angeles home.

Rivera refused probation in court on Friday and was placed in custody. He will begin serving his sentence immediately, according to TMZ.com.
