The concept for the ad was derived from a series of animated pictures spread through web forums which drew simple features on the side of power station cooling towers to bring them to life.
The concept gained traction online before the corporate world intervened and developed the idea into a full video in collaboration with the original creator.
The video is aimed at encouraging people to consider more eco-friendly means of energy production as fossil fuels face a finite future.
Ecotricity, the company behind the ad, states that their objective is "the creation of a Green, energy independent Britain."
